Phillip (Chippy) Adimari DeSimone

In January, my wife Annette (Cuomo, Class of '61) and I will celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We have 3 children; 2 daughters and a son. Our oldest daughter and her husband have been married 2 years as of today, 11/20, and are expecting our 1st grandchild in May, 2007. Her sister's wedding will be on June 2, so we're looking forward to an exciting Spring. Our son is the youngest, at 29. He has autism spectrum disorder, so he lives at home with us. He is high-functioning, however, and has a job (which he absolutely loves) working in a middle-school cafeteria in Chappaqua. He's also a very good tennis player, who has won the Class A gold medal in that sport at 4 of the last 5 NY State Special Olympics Games.

As for memories, there are some really funny ones. Jerry Cohn and I driving Mrs. Flemming nuts by singing do-wop ( "Thuuu-uh closer you are, ooo weee ooo....") during homeroom; Billy Applebaum and I getting caught passing an "obscene note" in class and having to bring our parents in to see the principal... pretty tame stuff compared to what you read about in the papers nowadays. Remember the band we had in 8th Grade? I did a hitch in the Air Force as an aircraft communications/navigation repairman from Feb. of 1958 to June of '62 (had a few months tacked on due to the Bay of Pigs crisis), then went to work for NY Telephone when I got out. Spent most of my working life in the telecommunications industry, then worked for Western Union for about 7 years. I retired in 2001, and have been keeping active with volunteer work at my church and with the Lions Club.
