Eleanor Dingee Tokle
I started dating my husband the summer of 1956 and we were engaged in December. My plans for nursing changed to wedding plans for July of 1957 as my future husband was being transferred to Kentucky with I.B.M. Living in Kentucky was lovely, although far from home. We started a family with the birth of our daughter Andrea, born on Derby Day, May, 1958. The Laura was born November 5, 1960 and our son, Harold Junior, was born November 9, 1961. Harold’s job moved us to Vermont, Connecticut and several different times to both Kentucky and Colorado. In 1974 we retired to our 288 acre farm, where we love now. Our daughter, Andrea, is the Executive Director of the Lincoln Count Chamber of Commerce. Her husband is a physician in Stanford, Kentucky, They have three children. Our daughter Laura, lives in Connecticut. She has a four-year nursing degree and her husband is an eye doctor. They have three children. Our son, Harold Jr., has two Masters degrees and counsels families. Harold’s wife Rhonda is a nurse. They live next door to us on two acres and have three children. I enjoy church, homemakers club through the University of Kentucky Extension Office, and the Red Hat Society. In the past, we have had registered goats, beef cattle, geese, chickens, dogs. We now have one elk hound and four outside cats. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary on July 6, 2007. We are looking forward to many more happy years together. We have been blessed, and I Have Been Moved!
