It is not easy to put your life into words. I felt I have gone in so many directions, but have stayed on a narrow path. I guess the easiest place to start is college. I went to Penn State my freshman year, and transferred to the University of Miami when my parents moved to south Florida. I majored in mathematics, minored in education. Two and a half years later I graduated, met my husband and married. In 1962 my twins were born, my husband entered night-law school, and my life was dedicated to both my husband and children. In 1964 my third daughter was born. When my husband graduated law school we mobbed to Jacksonville, FL where he became an assistant US Attorney. I began working part time, teaching kindergarten at the temple school. When we moved back to Miami, I decided to teach. I worked at the elementary school for six years and then, when the girls entered high school, I joined them at Miami Bech Senior High School. I taught the scholar students and was chairperson of the mathematics department for many years. I loved every minute of teaching and felt I made a difference in some of my students’ lives. This year I retired. My daughters all are married, have their own families and reside in Texas. I have eight grandchildren, the oldest a freshman at the University of Texas, one a senior in high school who was just accepted to West Point and the Air Force Academy. My youngest daughter has four children, three who are nine-year old triplets. We have recently bough a home in Houston, Texas to be nearer the children. At present we have no plans to give up our home on MB. I fill my time traveling, working out at the gym, reading and when in Texas, helping with the grandkids. Although I have just ended a large chapter in my life, I look forward to many more happy and fulfilling years.
