After Fifty years of Fun, Family, Frustrations and Frequent Fulfillment. Here are a few plain facts, more or less in numerical order. I have:
One Rambling Home in nearby Harrison, after living for many years in Scarsdale and in Kingston NY.
One Living Parent - My Dad who chaperoned our prom and who at 99+ is still in the Mt. Vernon house where I grew up. My older brother Gerry (AB Davis '54) is a retired doctor in CT.
One Ex Spouse - a medical student who I married at age 20 and left at 35, vowing never ever to remarry.
One Current Spouse - Stan Josephson, who convinced me 17 yrs ago to change my mind about vows, and who's such a great sport he's coming to reunion.
Two Charming (of course) Children - who helped me grow up and shape up. Gwenyth Jackaway teaches media studies at Fordham U. Adam Jackaway is an architectural engineer in Boulder Co.
Two Nearby Step Children -Evan and Brandt who round out our family.
Three Delicious Grandchildren - ages 4, 7, 10 who keep me laughing and hoping that the world will someday be a saner and safer place.
Three Degrees in Psychology - from Cornell and SUNY Albany .
Three Challenging Careers as Dr. Rita: Formerly a professor at SUNY New Paltz & the College of New Rochelle. Author of psychology books about beauty and body image that brought five minutes of media fame on Oprah, Larry King, etc. Clinician still in private practice.
Numerous Interests and Hobbies - Buddhism and ballroom dancing, feminism and ice skating, planting petunias and playing Chopin.
Endless Aches and Pains - minor maladies, senior moments, losses, failures, chronic political angst, and a perpetual quest for the key to a peaceful yet purposeful life. Suggestions are most welcome.
Countless Future Dreams - To Be more, to Do more, to Love more, and hopefully to live a many more years!
