ROCKIN' AROUND

Mary E. Grant Dwyer

My first year at Marymount Manhattan was when I met my husband, Bud, and the beginning of 44 wonderful years.  We dated for seven years and were married in 1964.  Unfortunately, Bud passed away in 2001.  He had been a college professor and encouraged me to go to graduate school and ultimately on to a career in finance.  In 2005 I retired as a Vice President-Investments after working as a financial consultant for 25 years, the last 15 at A.G. Edwards.

I have two wonderful children, Hugh and Jane.  Hugh is an executive at the IRC (International Rescue Committee), a humanitarian organization; he lives in Fairfield, CT with his wife Katka and my granddaughter, Anna.  Jane is an executive at Microstrategy, a software company; she was married to Bob Maruszewski last year and they are living in Washington DC.

A little over two years ago I met Richard, a wonderful man with whom I will spend the rest of my life, God willing.  He is a fun-loving person who is also widowed; in fact, he lost his wife the day after I lost my husband.  Richard and I have settled in The Villages, FL for the winter and Fairfield, CT for the summer.  We keep busy with traveling, golf, swimming and dancing.  We are both looking forward to the reunion.
