Edward Merdinger
Semi-retired, living in Florida for the past five years, I am thoroughly enjoying the Golden Years. Following A.B. Davis, I graduated in 1961 from the University of Rhode Island with a B.X. and in 1963 from Columbia University with an M.B.A. From 1963 to 1968 I worked for Warner-Lambert Pharmaceutical Co. and Foote, Cone and Belding in carious marketing positions. In late 1968 I joined The American Fabrics Company where I served as an officer and Director of their Model Lace Division. In 200q, I initiated the sale of the Division to Groupo Acytex, in Mexico City. I presently serve as a consultant to Acytex as well as textile companies located in Bogota, Colombia and Bangkok, Thailand. I am happily re-married to Marsha Lane, and we have three children and two grandchildren. We take special pleasure watching our grandchildren grow and develop and only wish that we lived closer so that we could spend more time with them and our children. The Golden Years consist of a lot of golf and entertainment with a little time devoted to work with my clients, local charities and my community. My life has hardly turned out as I had expected. Educational, career, marriage and residence changes have taken me a long way from my plans of becoming an engineer and residing in Westchester County. I surely have no regrets. Some fortunate members of the Class of ’57 had the pleasure of spending four planned at A.B. Davis, having started in 9th grade. I feel that A.B. Davis provided me with w strong foundation and prepared me for my continuing education. In retrospect, I probably should have played lee and worked a little harder, particularly in Spanish.
