Susan Wallman Katz
I attended the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida for one year and then worked as a bookkeeper for a paint manufacturing company until I married at 22 to Sydney Katz. We had four kids in four years – two girls and two boys! Sydney and his dad were in business in one supermarket in the Bronx, New York, and today, along with our sons, Daniel and Noah, we have grown the business to 15 stores d.b.a. Foodtown Supermarkets in the New York metropolitan area. Our oldest daughter, Hillary, lives in Milan, Italy with her husband, Roberto Bonfanti and baby, Bianca. Our youngest daughter, Meredith, is married to Scott Offerman and living on the West Side of New York with two boys, Oscar and Theo. Our oldest son, Danny lives near us in Stamford, Connecticut with wife, Laura and four children, Jillian, Abigail, Victoria and Mitchell. Our youngest son, Noah, still unmarried at 40, lives on the East Side of New York and has climbed four major mountains in the world. My two sons won the 2005 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for their business acumen and professionalism. Sydney and I divide our time between Stamford, Connecticut – Manchester, Vermont and Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. We are avid skiers and golfers. I became a “bridge-aholic” and play in bridge tournaments as often as I can.
